Everything you need to know about getting started with Signet Screening.

Most clients are up and running within 24 hours. There's no lengthy onboarding process, no contracts, no minimums, and no setup fees. We do have an FCRA agreement to complete, but it's simple and part of getting your account set up. We set up your account, walk you through the platform, and you can start ordering screens the same day. Whether you're hiring one person a month or a hundred, you'll get the same level of service and access to the full platform.

Our criminal check includes three steps: address history, national database, and county criminal searches. The address history and national searches are instant. County criminal searches can take up to a few days. Drug test results are typically available within 24–72 hours after the candidate is tested. We keep you informed throughout the process if there are any delays.

Yes, every report we produce meets the standards set by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. We guide you through the proper disclosure and authorization process, ensure candidates receive the required notices, and follow all adverse action procedures. All disclosures, authorizations, and adverse action notices can be completed electronically. Compliance is built into everything we do.

We go directly to county courts for criminal record verification rather than relying solely on databases. This means our results are more accurate and more current than what most screening companies provide. We also use a national criminal database search as a first layer to flag potential records across all 50 states.

Absolutely. Different roles carry different risks, and your screening package should reflect that. We'll work with you to build role-specific packages, for example, adding MVR checks for drivers, credit checks for finance roles, or healthcare compliance checks for medical staff, so you're not over-screening or under-screening anyone.

Federal law requires a two-step adverse action process. The first letter notifies the applicant that the company is considering not moving forward based on the background report, and gives them time to respond or correct any errors. If the company proceeds, a second letter formally withdraws the offer. We guide you through both steps to keep you compliant. The entire process is handled electronically through our system.
